Volunteers/Interns

The mission and initiatives of JusticeWorks Community have always been supported by the strengths and generosity of volunteers and interns. Our small staff is most welcoming to individuals who wish to share their time and talents in the cause of justice. This experience which may be for a semester or longer is mutually beneficial: the volunteer/intern gains insight into the complexities of the criminal justice system—especially as it impacts women and children and JusticeWorks receives much needed assistance.

The diversity of opportunities includes:

  • community organizing: assist in local organizing for Seven Neighborhood Action Partnership or for the national campaign
  • internet research: updating fact sheets; researching criminal justice policies nationwide; legislative updates
  • development assistance: help in events planning; conduct research on foundations
  • media associate: prepare press releases; research media source databases; develop broadcast/fax/e-mail list and a media tracking process
  • marketing: assist in the marketing of anthology of writings: Breaking Silence: voices of mothers in prison
  • Administrative support: data entry; maintain database; computer work for program staff

JusticeWorks is always seeking dedicated Board Members. For more information on JusticeWorks’ board recruitment, contact www.boardnetusa.org
